Ghost plates and evasive techniques affecting parking management and operations

With the growing issue of GhostPlate and manipulated usage, parking operations are suffering a reduced number of accurate plate identifications, entry/exit matches and penalty applications for vehicles across all parking environments. Couple this with the growing use of EV bays by standard vehicle drivers, which are often not monitored correctly, to evade charges and the parking sector is increasingly facing barriers to stable revenue and consistent ROI.

Technology within the marketplace is evolving to address these issues but often the 'value' of more sophisticated technology is lost compared to more basic offers. This is an important subject that needs address but also holds further importance when looking at parking structures within extended Smart City environments and multi-site analysis.
